Last NewFoundland Issue 23 June 1947 Depicting Cabot on the deck of his ship "The Matthews", the 5c stamp was issued in commemoration of the 450th anniversary of Cabot's landing. In 1949, to celebrate NewFoundland's entry into the Canadian Confederation, a stamp depicting the Matthews was issued with St-John as the issuing city. |
