The Morehead Rowan County Rescue Squad (MRCRS) is always finding ways to give
back to the community. Each year, the squad provides first aid stations for
numerous community events, everything from high school ball games to the county
fair each summer. Whenever needed, you can guarantee that the MRCRS will be there
to help out. The members of the squad also patrol the waters of nearby Cave Run
Lake every weekend throughout the summer, providing assistance to stranded
boaters, or anyone else who may require it. In the winter, when weather is bad
and roads are covered with snow and ice, the squad provides transportation for
health care providers to and from work at the hospital, and the county's two
nursing homes. In addition to this, during these bad times, the MRCRS also
delivers food and medicine to the elderly residents of Rowan County.
