Selena started singing at the age of 9. Her father Abraham Quintanilla was the original of the group -Los Dinos-. In 1981, in tradition of her father, the group -Selena Y Los Dinos- was formed. This being the beginning point of her career. Though at the moment success wasn't coming in like a breeze. It took time until things started to spark. But, in 1986, Selena won her first awards, receiving the -Female Vocalist of the Year- and -Performer of the Year- at the Tejano Music Awards. Just the beginnig of everything of every award she has gotten. Sadly enough, right before the cross over success, she was taken shortly after her once so called loyal friend Yolanda Salvidor cut her success short. Some friend, eh? No longer being able to perform on stage, which she loved so much, and no longer being able to step another foot on this face of the Earth again, she now performs before an audience of angels.
