Patrick
will continue to play leaders of one sort or another in a busy 2001 schedule.
After the short run as 'George' in 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf' at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis finishes on April 1, it's off to Mexico for the lead role in the re-working of Shakespeare's King Lear. 'Boss Lear' sees the continued partnership of Robert Halmi Snr. of Hallmark Entertainment, and Stewart's 'Flying Freehold' in co-producing the TNT version. Set in 1800's Texas, the play has been adapted by Stephen Harrigan (Gates of the Alamo) and will be directed by Uli Edel. A leader
of a decidedly different sort will be voiced by Patrick in 'Jimmy
Neutron: Boy Genius' an animated family film due for release mid
2001.
Depending
on the length and date of the looming US actors strike - probably around
July - the year should also see Stewart back in front of the cameras again
as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in the 10th Star Trek film.

Just
to confirm that Patrick's 1999 version of 'A Christmas
Carol' will be shown on Christmas Eve at 5.20 pm on Channel
4 television and not Christmas Day as previously though - something
to do with Titanic showing on BBC1 no doubt caused the re-shuffle....
The welcome re-run of 'Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy' begins on BBC2 on Boxing Day and continues each evening - Stewart features as 'Karla' in episode 4 on Friday 29th at 7.30 pm. Also showing on Thursday 28th December at 11.15 pm on BBC1 is 'Death Train' starring Stewart and Pierce Brosnan in a TV movie version based on the Alister Maclean novel - not quite in the Ice Station Zebra league, but still worth catching if you've never seen it. So
a great Christmas for all UK fans, and the New Year should see the long
awaited 'Best of British' documentary about Patrick on BBC1 - watch
this space for the date....

Friday

Albee's 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' at the Guthrie
