News Updates Back At Last!
In case you've been wondering where all the updates have been for the last 4 weeks, let's just say we've been experiencing technical difficulties...which means a new PC is now top of my Christmas list!

October/November News Round Up

  • The professional critics couldn't seem to agree about the recent Johnson Over Jordan production at West Yorkshire Playhouse, so here's a review by a fellow fan - Catherine Ellis.  Anyone else who attended and is willing to share their review, please e-mail me. (Thanks Catherine)
  • Back on October 5, Patrick received the Yorkshire Man of the Year award at a ceremony in Leeds. Read about the event at the Yorkshire Post and Thisisleeds web sites. (Thanks to Michele)
  • The October 13-19 issue of the Radio Times magazine (UK) featured an article about Patrick in their 'Teach Yourself' section.
    Transcript available here.
  • At the end of October, BBC 2 began a complete re-run of the TNG series with 2 episodes a week being shown on a Tuesday and Wednesday night at 6:45 pm. Wonder if they'll finally show the 3rd season episode 'The High Ground'  which has never aired on BBC due to supposed sensitive political issues?
  • For those of you not based in the UK who missed BBC 2's celebration of Star Trek's 35th anniversary, you can now read the interviews with Patrick on the BBC web site.  (thanks to Karen Rourk)
  • Each year the Sunday Times newspaper publishes a list of the highest paid 500 people in the UK . This year saw Stewart listed as joint 7th in the Film and TV list, and 123rd overall.
  • Those canny folk at Chivas Brothers made it so for the person who bid £4100 for the chance to visit the set of the next Star Trek film and have lunch with a certain captain. Sorry I wasn't able to get the site updated in time for those of you who like me, wanted to bid on this and help raise funds for the River Fund. Think I'll drown my sorrows with a glass of Scotch...

Stewart to host TNG marathon
Back to some current news now - Patrick will host a 14 hour special called 'Star Gazing On Star Trek' to be shown on 23 November on TNN in the US.
The marathon show comprises of 14 episodes of TNG featuring many of the famous guest stars who appeared during the seven year run of the series. The show also promises many facts about the series and it's guests.

Production News
Looks like an end of November start to filming for the cast and crew of Star Trek X - provisionally titled 'Nemesis' - according to various reports in the press and on the web, but X-Men 2 may not be going into production now until the summer of 2002. Originally Trek X was scheduled for an October start and X-Men 2 for early 2002 leaving Patrick chance to do some theatre work later in the year...
