Stewart
misses Broadway benefit on Monday |
|
|
Due
to a bout of bronchitis, Patrick will now be unable to appear as planned
at the 'Broadway Cares - Equity Fights AIDS' benefit on Monday
16 in New York City. He was also due to guest on the Conan O'Brien
show the same day.
Star
Trek colleague Brent Spiner will be performing at the event along
with Michael Crawford, Robert Goulet, Chita Rivera, Bebe Neuwirth and many
more Broadway stars. Julie Andrews hosts the event.

'Uneasy'
benefit draws star audience |
|
|
Last
Friday Patrick performed his one man show of power monologues called 'Uneasy
Lies the Head' at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara. The performance
benefited both the Lobero and the Shakespeare School.
Amongst
those who gave a standing ovation at the end was none other than film legend
Kirk
Douglas....
Thanks
to Aline and Al Ortega

Got
one of those great DVD players yet? No? Well rush out and get one
because November heralds the arrival of 2 of Patrick's most recent
performances to digital technology: -
'A
Christmas Carol' is released on November 7 and 'X-Men'
follows on November 21. You can pre order from Barnes
and Noble, Borders,
Amazon
et al. Both are Region 1 discs which means as usual the US/Canada
get them first......
However,
if like me you live in the UK, get yourself down to Tesco
and for £170 you can watch region 1 discs with no bother on
a rather super Wharfedale player...now all you need is a wide screen
tv, digital sound processor, 5 or 6 speakers, and hey presto, you've got
home cinema that'll blow your socks off. Just remember to invite the neighbours
round so they know what to expect! (mine enjoyed The Mummy)

UK
Video release in November |
|
|
Good
news for UK citizens....not only is Patrick's excellent 1999 version of
Charles Dickens's 'A Christmas Carol' due for TV premiere this Christmas
on Channel 4, but you can buy the VHS video version as of 27
November.
You
can pre order it over the web from Blackstar.co.uk
for a mere £11.99 - and there's no delivery charge across Europe
either.... |

UK
Fan Club merges with US |
|
|
To
best serve the interests of all Patrick's fans out there, the UK club PSAS
is merging with US based Patrick Stewart
Network (PSN) to offer one International club.
Any
fans wishing to join from the UK will still be able to pay in Pounds Sterling
via the continued UK committee representatives.
