Neglected and Abused Children

This page is about something very near and dear to my heart: abused and neglected children. I have been one and I have known many. On this page, I will have poems, stories, and drawings of and about abused and neglected children. I will also try to have statistics and nationwide phone numbers for child protective services. So, if you even suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, please don't think that it's none of your business or that you're not even sure that you're right. Report it to the proper authorities. You could be saving a life that has yet to begin. Thank you.

CHRISTOPHER'S PRAYER

Dear Jesus, hear my prayer.

Please make me a good boy so my mommy and daddy will love me.

I try so hard, but I guess I forgot how, because everything I do is wrong.

And if I could just be a good boy, I know that they would love me like they love my sister and brothers.

Please make me smart, so they won't have my sister call me stupid and dumb.

Please make my little sister love me; she told me she hates my guts and it broke my heart.

Please Jesus, do these things for me, and maybe Daddy won't have to hit me so hard!

And maybe next year when I'm seven, I'll be a big boy instead of a baby like they say I am.

Love,

Christopher

Written by Christopher's Nana

Christopher is a six-year-old boy. He's the oldest of four children. Although we don't have absolute proof that he's abused, only his word, we do know that at the least he is severely neglected. I hope that Chris lives long enough to see this page and realize that there were people pulling for him.
