Some say it was destined to be...1776 is back on Broadway, a big a hit as ever. This time Brent Spiner (Data of Star Trek: The Next Generation) stars as the great JA. So far he, and the musical, are getting rave reviews, and the audiences are pouring in.

I do not doubt Spiner's singing ability, and his very average face isn't so far off from Adams' (let's face facts; even great men aren't always that good looking). Still, I do think Spiner is too tall, and I know he will never compare to the acting (or singing) of William Daniels.

I would LOVE to see 1776 on Broadway, but for a college student who can barely afford $1.25 to do her laundry with, this is an elusive dream.
