"Secrets"

A pair of soft, loving, dark eyes...

I had first seen you when we met in the mountains near Lahan;
A little over a year since Deus had gone.
You were alone with a child and trying to find a cook for your place;
I had intended to leave, but I stayed with you, seeing sorrow and hurt in your face.

When it happened, I don't know or how;
Maybe it was a cool summer day, I wonder, thinking back now;
But I realized one day the settling of morning dew;
I had fallen in love with you.

Flowing black hair, a kind face, a tender smile...

Sometimes I would decide to tell you the truth, on numerous days;
But then you'd spend weeks on a machine, time to you passing in a haze;
So I keep it, my love for you, a secret inside;
Even though it's one that hurts to hide.
Sometimes you'd smile at me, a soft, tender smile;
Though I wonder if you're thinking of a new gizmo, or a patient, all the while;
I remain by your side, wondering of what can be;
After all, sweet Citan...what is the chance of you loving someone...like me?
