The release of Mercedes Five and Dime might be pushed back in the states to January of 2000. However a release there will possibly mean a tour as well.
Rumor confirmed, Breathe will appear on a soundtrack by the end of the summer. (It might also be on more then one...)

A new article on David Usher/Moist has been posted on the net May 25th DAVID USHER:

www.moist.ca was updated on May 24th. The updated simply says "breathe" is getting airplay across the country, the video is being edited presently and the band is planing to do more summer shows, and details will follow.
Rumor: breathe might be on the soundtrack of a film. More details available in the present issue of Canadian Musician, including an article Mark M. wrote about playing guitar.
Rumor: There is a second version of breathe airing. (?)

For all of you who haven't had a chance to hear breathe, I can convincingly tell you it doesn't sound like Radiohead's creep, nor do I believe it sounds like the Beatles. Wendy Daniel's (a host on Ottawa's 106.9 The Bear) suggested the song sounds like Oasis.

A few of Edgefest.net's 53 EdgeFest Predictions have to do with moist.
Moist's third album, Mercedes Five and Dime, will be in stores June 29th 1999.
Jeff (i presume) has updated www.moist.ca, nothing new really, he simply states breathe is getting some airplay across the country and the upcoming video (filmed with Phil Harder) and that it will probably be airing in a few weeks on MusiquePlus and MuchMusic.

EMI Canada confirmed that Breathe is the title of the new single, currently airing on select radio
stations across Canada. It should also be hitting the airwaves in full force this
week.
Moist will be filming the video for this single in Toronto this weekend. The Official Moist Page
credits Javier (Gasoline, Forest Fire) as the director, but EMI states Phil Harder (who was previously mentioned as the one).

MONTREAL EDGEFEST HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Concert producers claim that the cancellation is due to scheduling conflicts.
According to the press release: "Several of the bands have notified the
producers that it would no be possible to perform four dates in a row."
Ticketholders for the Montreal show can exchange their tickets in Ottawa to attend the concert on July 3rd (with no service charges).
A map to the Ottawa Edgefest will be posted soon at www.edgefest.net.
Ticketholders unable to attend the Ottawa concert will be able to get a refund at the
original point of purchase prior to July 3.
HMV has been added as a sponsor of Edgefest.net (which might mean sales for EdgeFest artists).
The Montreal Mirror's BOM (Best Of Montreal) is up on the net, www.montrealmirror.com/bom1999/bomindex.html.
Mercedes Five and Dime has been quoted on EdgeFest's site as Beatlesque by knowledgeable persons.

An Edgefest '99 CD will be released
June 1st (available also at the HMV tent).
The disc titled Much @ EdgeFest '99 is being
distributed by Universal Music, in
conjunction with MuchMusic and
Edge102. THe album will commemorate not only this year's festival but the tour in general and
feature artists who've provided the sounds of the Canadian festival since its creation, and provide
a bunch of previously unreleased material.

Well as hinted, MERCEDES FIVE AND DIME is the title of the new album.
David's solo album, Little Songs is now in record stores is the United States. No press tours has been planed so far.
The band is filming their first video of this album next weekend.

MOIST is set to release their third album entitled "Mercedes Five and Dime", due in stores June 29. Fax videographer CORY ATKINS visited them on the Toronto set of their upcoming video called "Breathe", and spoke with DAVID USHER, JEFF PEARCE, and PAUL WILCOX of Moist. Also shooting in Toronto this week, THE TEA PARTY are preparing for the June 8th release of their new album "Tryptych". Cory Atkins caught up with drummer JEFF BURROWS as the band was shooting a video for a song called "Heaven's Coming Down". "

MuchMusic will be airing Killing Time on May 19th at 4 a.m. The Much site, declares it will be 60 minutes long and commercial free, even though the previous aired show in December was only 30 minutes. (could be a different version?)
