The release of Mercedes Five and Dime might be pushed back in the states to January of 2000. However a release there will possibly mean a tour as well.

For all of you who haven't had a chance to hear breathe, I can convincingly tell you it doesn't sound like Radiohead's creep, nor do I believe it sounds like the Beatles. Wendy Daniel's (a host on Ottawa's 106.9 The Bear) suggested the song sounds like Oasis.

A few of Edgefest.net's 53 EdgeFest Predictions have to do with moist.

  • 10. ...not be the only girl screaming for Moist.
  • 41. ...look at David Usher onstage and think how unfair it is for one man to be that good looking.
  • 52. ...threaten to steal a girl's Lisa Loeb glasses if she doesn't quit her "David look at me! Look at me!" act during Moist's set.
  • 53. ...be the only girl who goes to the can during the Moist set.
  • Moist's third album, Mercedes Five and Dime, will be in stores June 29th 1999.

Jeff (i presume) has updated www.moist.ca, nothing new really, he simply states breathe is getting some airplay across the country and the upcoming video (filmed with Phil Harder) and that it will probably be airing in a few weeks on MusiquePlus and MuchMusic.

An other feature of Edgefest.net is A Punk Rock Guide To EdgeFest. Keith Carman tries to prove that Every band on the EdgeFest bill has at least some Punk coursing through their veins. Of Moist is writes:
Selling a zillion copies of your first album while it's still independent is Punk friggin' Rock, baby. There's no way in hell you can call these boys "sellouts," when they didn't have major label support, a nationwide fanbase, or pot to piss in - all currently in their grasp (though the pot is questionable). The fact that you're shelling out $30 to see them now makes them Punk Rock.

www.edgefest.net is coming up with some new features, "53 EdgeFest Predictions", and a chance to win tickets to attend EdgeFest (one pair of tickets given away everyday starting next week).

EMI Canada confirmed that Breathe is the title of the new single, currently airing on select radio stations across Canada. It should also be hitting the airwaves in full force this week.

Moist will be filming the video for this single in Toronto this weekend. The Official Moist Page credits Javier (Gasoline, Forest Fire) as the director, but EMI states Phil Harder (who was previously mentioned as the one).
