Kurt's Bio:
I first met up with the people here in November of 1995. Yet another
refugee from a different mailing list. ;-) I first joined because I was
having trouble meeting people in the city. I come from a small town and
went to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to go to University and get my degree in
Molecular Biology, which I finally got in June of 1994. Coming from a small
town I've had most of my friend my entire life. I found the University
environment intimidating and honestly, quite cold. The people in this group
have helped me increase my self-esteem and sense of self-worth considerably.
I am now enrolled as a Graduate Student in the University of Calgary,
Faculty of Medicine, Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. My
project involves developing vaccines for the Human diseases caused by
Neisseria meningitidis (meningitis) and Neisseria gonorreahoeae (you know
what that causes, don't try to kid me ;-)). As well we are working on a
vaccine for the cattle pathogen Pasteurella haemolytica that causes severe
shipping fever.
I am 30 years old and single, but I'm always looking. :-) I don't have a home page yet, the
University gives us free acounts to do it and I really would like to join
the others in the Inner-Circle who have them. Check them out they are
fantastic.
We like to kid Kurt for being our resident expert on "bugs" *grin*
