Archimedes Comes Home

Hi. I'm Archimedes. At least, that's what my new Mom says my name is. It's neat to have a Mom.

It was pretty cold where I lived before, and I had to eat as fast as I could to keep my furmommy and furgrandma from eating everything before I could get to it, since there wasn't enough to go around. There were people there, and I kept hoping someone would love me. There were some people who were nice who sometimes came to see me, but they didn't take me home. Until one day, they did! they put me in a nice little cave with a door I could see through and kept me warm in their car for a very long while. Then, some other people came and the kind people took me out of the car and gave me to a lady who wrapped me in a nice, fluffy blanket.

My new Mom petted me and talked to me until Dad took out another box for me to ride in and put me in this new car. I was still warm! And I had my own blanket to snuggle.

My new Mom and Dad and I drove for a long time. I took a nap in my nice warm den. Then, we went out into the cold again. I didn't like that! Soon enough I was warm again, though, and Dad gave me a big bowl of really good food, all to myself! Mom brushed me and petted me and rubbed me behind the ears and told me what a good kitty I am. Then she looked at my paw (the one that used to hurt) and cried.

Pretty soon, I was ready to explore. I had scouted out a good den to run back to if I got startled or bored, so I took off to check out my new turf. I didn't find any other cats there. I didn't hear any loud noises. And Mom and the other humans kept saying how cute I was! And when I went back, my food was still there!

Oh boy, oh boy! This is going to be FUN. Mom and Dad and all the other humans went to sleep, so I crawled into my den and purred to myself all night.

Archimedes has had visitors.

Archimedes    is    Great    Too

When Mom woke up, she reached into my den to pet me. Pretty soon, I came out for some more affection, and I still had food! Mom played with me for a while and she and the other humans ate. Dad saw how much I wanted some toast and shared a little of his breakfast with me. Then all the humans left. I thought sure I was all alone again. I was feeling bolder now that Iwas warm and had a full belly, so I decided to explore even though I was lonely. Oh, wow! The food was still there! Mom and Dad and the other humans came back. Dad gave me some more food! But then they put me back in the box that goes in the car. Where on earth could we be going? Mom and Dad and one of the other humans all got in the car with me. Then it got warm again and we drove for a VERY LONG TIME. We stopped and Mom took me out of my box once and I got to look out the windows. That was nice, except when other cars and trucks went by. Then it was scary. And, then, Mom gave me some more food! When we got out of the car, I got cold again for a minute. I protested loudly! This has happened often enough! Dad took me into a room with lots of cool stuff to investigate in it and let me out of the box. Then the box disappeared. Mom came up to the room for a while and tried to find me. I'm a very good hider. She went away again before she found me. On my way to my new room, I smelled some other cats. Sometimes I hear another cat at the door to my room, but my food is still there when I check. Mom has come in a couple times, but I'm still winning the hide game. While Mom was gone, the other kitties came to the door and sniffed, and sniffed, and meowed, and sniffed. I kept hiding. I'm still winning the hide game.

Archimedes Makes An Appearance

Last night Mom and Dad slept up here with me. I didn't sleep though. I was very vigilant and watched them all night long. Dad stayed awake to watch me watchin him for a long time. He didn't try to get me and make me lose the hide game. I like Dad.

Mom and Dad were very quiet and still, so I crept out and ate from my bowl. My food is still there!

When Mom woke up, I was watching her. She talked to me for a while. I like Mom. She leaned over toward me, so I disappeared. I am still winnin. I came out after she went away, and there was more food in my bowl!

Yesterday, Mom and Dad tried really hard to find me and make me lose the hide game. I hid really well, and I am still winnin. Then, they let two other cats try to find me and make me lose. I am still winnin. I am smellin those other two cats. I checked after they left, and my food was still there.

Archimedes Comes Out At Last

This morning I was hidin when Mom woke up. Mom and Dad keep the door shut so those other kitties can't come up here into my place. I can't go downstairs into their place either. I heard one of those other cats meow. Then both of them meowed. I thought that sounded like fun. They did it again. Oh boy! The next time, I meowed too! Hey, this is fun!

I crept up to the door to look out underneath and see the other cats. Mom was watchin me, but she was holdin still, so I didn't mind. I looked, and looked, and then I saw one of those other cats! He was much bigger than me, so I jumped back before he could get me. Then I remembered that the door was shut. So I started looking again, but I kept my distance just to be safe. I looked, and he looked, and we meowed.

Then I was hungry, so I crept into my carrier box where my food was. I heard noises outside. Oh no! The bigger cats! So I started to run. Then I saw that it was only Mom. So I stopped. Mom looked at me, and I looked at Mom. She put her finger out, and I wasn't scared, so I rolled over and acted cute to get her to play with me. Mom laughed, so I got up and rubbed the top of my head on her hand. Then she picked me up and we played and played!

Mom says tomorrow is somethin called Thanksgivin and that she will remember to be thankful that I am not playin the hide game any more. Today when I came out to play, Mom rubbed me and rubbed me. I love Mom. Then Dad came home and closed up my hiding place. Now I just hide under the bed, and Mom comes up all the time and pets me until I come out to play.

Momma's little kitty loves cornbread, cornbread, Momma's little kitty loves turkey too.

Momma brought me treats for Thanksgivin. Then she and Daddy were gone for a while, and a strange lady came to feed me. She wanted to play, but I don't know about strange ladies. They might not love me.

Momma lets me live downstairs with those other cats now. They are much bigger than me, but now they are very nice. Remus did not like me at first, but now he does. I think Rom is great. Rom taught me how to climb the ladder. I want to be just like Rom. Rom and I play all the time.
