Ferrethead is about 1 1/2 years old. He's a 4lb. male silver mitt that was real scrawny when we got him this past March (1997). When Jesse brought him home he said we weren't keeping him, but I knew we were cause I fell in love with him the minute I saw him. This past September Ferrethead escaped from our home. I was so devastated I thought for sure he'd be dead and we'd never see him again but sure enough he was waiting for someone to let him in 24 hours later. I'd of never known if Jesse wouldn't have seen him when he had come home that evening. Ferrethead was a soaked little fuzzbutt. It was raining like crazy. Well he brought home a few friends himself.......about 5 ticks and a ton of fleas!!! We were to the vet that next week as this was a weekend! Little did we know then that Ferretheads running off was the begining of our ferret family.

After Ferrethead ran off I thought that maybe he was bored and needed some company. So I did some searching on the net and came across a lady by the name of Barb Carlson who was helping to get a ferret rescue and some awareness going in the Pittsburgh area. Well we take Rodney down to Pittsburgh for checkups and he had one in October anyways so going there was no big deal. So Barb gave me a # to call and they had 2 ferrets. I had only anticipated on one but the lady said they had to go together as she promised the owner. So then home came Chloe a female albino, that was about 3 years old and Jerry a female black sable that was about 2 years of age.

Chloe had a bit of an attitude when we first got her. The Smallest with the biggest bite!! She wasn't biting to be mean I don't think just to play. And it was only at the feet. I know ferrets nip and like to play with feet, but coming from her was like having Dracula sinking his teeth into your neck!!! We call her our little Chlobelle or Chlobutt when in hotwater! She soon stopped. Jerry whom is named After Jerry Garcia is our little Jerbear. Jerrys a pretty good little fuzzbutt. She really likes to play. Her and Ferrethead are really good ferret friends. They all get along but I think those two have built a good relationship.

Well now we have one minor problem. There are 3 ferrets which sometimes leaves someone out during playtime. So another friend who helped me get Chloe and Jerry, Gina Hart told me that Barb had a ferret that she needed to find a home for. Thats how we ended up with Champ. Champ is a male albino that is about 2 years old and weighs about 4-5 lbs. He is the sweetest ferret we own. It took awhile for the others to warm up to him but he is so furry and cuddly I just adore him. He never gives up! He'll try and try until he gets in trouble to get into the living room. But he never makes it!! Hes also a leader when it comes to getting everyone else in trouble too. I don't know why but everyone sure is a follower sometimes.
So thats it for our ferret family for now...... I will keep updating and you keep coming back to see us.

I'm sorry to say I had to part w/ Jerry & Chloe as well as Champ & Daisy. I just didn't have time for all of them and it wasn't fair to them. I was going to get rid of them individually however I felt since they were all friends I should get rid of them in friendly pairs. They all got loving homes which I am extremly happy about.......
