The Seeker:
F., I have a card from you that predates the travail analogy letters and,
I think, even the beginning of the Bible study class [Oct. 1977] - perhaps
by as much as a year. Although those letters apparently did not mark
the beginning of my correspondence with you, they DID mark the first real
crack in my extreme introverted reserve that hid my inner sanctum and trusted
no one with entrance. It was this card, calling me "sister", that
invited my trust.

THE CARD NOTE [dated perhaps as early as 1976]:
The Singer:
"B.,...I sincerely appreciate
your love [a gift of bread]. I also appreciate your love for our
Lord. I have found a true sister in you. Your note (letter!)
just thrilled my soul. The enclosed article will bless you no end!
[the article: "The Harness of The Lord" by Bill Britton].
