Abdu'l-Baha
says that men and women both
"
belong to humankind and that in the estimation
of God they are equal, for each is the complement of the other in the divine
creative plan. The only distinction between
them
in the sight of God is the purity and righteousness of their deeds and
actions,
for that one is preferred by God
who is most nearly in the
spiritual
image and likeness of the Creator. "
.
since
God's bounty reaches man and woman alike ,we should make no distinction
between them. The duties of a man in a community may be different from
that of a woman, but their rights and privileges must be equal. We should
not think that a woman's talents are less than a man's. In the past woman
did not have the same education and opportunities as men, that is why
they
were not able to develop their different capacities.
;;
When
Baha'is
are electing their assemblies
every year, the members they choose are those who are most sincere and
capable. It does not make any difference whether they are men or woman.
We should always remember that God looks to the heart and character of
a person and not the sex.
.
Abdu'l-Baha
says:
.
"
One whose thought is pure, whose education is superior , whose scientific
attainments are greater , whose deeds of philanthropy excel, be that one
man or woman, white or
colored,
is entitled to full rights and recognition; there is no differentiation
whatsoever.
