Mark Patton starred in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Part 2: Freddy's Revenge as Jesse, a teenager who must fight to prevent Freddy from taking over his body. He was raised in a suburb of Kansas City, and he pursued gymnastics in his youth. He started acting in high school with appearances in Night Must Fall and House of Blue Leaves for the Missouri Repertory Company.

When he was seventeen, Mark was equally interested in country music and acting, so he flipped a coin to decide which career to follow. The coin toss resulted in his decision to head to New York to try to break into acting. He made a few commercials before receiving the role of James Dean in the play Come Back to the Five 'n' Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. Shortly afterwards, he repeated that role for the movie version. His other early acting credits include a made-for-cable film called Anna to the Infinite Power and a TV pilot called Kelsey's Son.

In 1985, Mark won the role of Jesse Walsh in the second Nightmare on Elm Street. I don't have any quotes from him about it, but I know he was upset when he had to wear the mechanical tongue for the poolhouse scene, and the director kept laughing at him!

After Nightmare 2 was over, Mark began writing a screenplay about the country and western music scene, but I don't know if it was ever produced. As far as I know, Mark hasn't acted in any movies or TV shows since his visit to Elm Street, but he currently lives in West Hollywood and works as a stage director for shows in Los Angeles.
