A Little About Seinfeld
Seinfeld first
screened in the US on July 5th, 1989 and was called
"The Seinfeld Chronicles". The first
season was run almost a year later with four episodes
before the Pilot was re-run.
Since then Seinfeld, created by comedian Jerry Seinfeld
and Larry David, has shown more than 150 episodes over 9
seasons. During these nine seasons special guest
appearances have been made by Lloyd Bridges, Jon Voight,
Rudolph Giuliani and Keith Harnandez.
Over the years, Seinfeld has become increasingly popular
and with a more diverse range of viewers. The show
brought many avid followers who followed every episode
right down to the one and a quarter hour final episode.
When the final episode was written, everybodyon the
seinfeld team made the vow that the circumstances of the
final episode would be kept under wraps until it was due
to be aired.
With the popularity, media interest and general hype the
show and it's creators had brought on companies were
paying $1.5 to $1.7 million for a 30 second commercial.
The final episode brought almost every character that had
been on the show in the past back to do one last stint,
to "sein-off".
The one hour of seinfeld memories that preceeded the
finale helped the less devoted of followers understand
the constant referral to previous episodes. The
final episode was certainly one to go down in the history
books and become one of televisions best farewells and
one of Seinfeld's best episodes.
