He was brought up in a life of crime by his mother Maude and was raised by various aunts and uncles when he wasn't "needed" by his mother. He resents her for not being there for him. |

However, as a master of slight-of-hand and disguises, he knows "every trick in the book" and uses them to his advantage - mainly in conning people out of their money. |
|
He also seeks to become a better person and to live up to his new responsibility as a protector of the town. |
|
Fights constantly with Nathan (see sketch below) about morals and ethics. Gets along great with children.
