Life with the Dogs

A humble little webpage dedicated to the two fun, furry friends that run our household (along with their two feline pals Kaytee & Li'l Kitty).   These two crazy canines have been brought so much fun into our home that we just had to make them their own page (Even though Coda wanted to chew on the keyboard more often than I wanted to type with it!).    These two even inspired me to create a few graphics--my newest hobby--and dedicate the creations to them!

First off, I'll introduce you to Guiness.  Guiness is a 10 year old GSD.   My husband adopted Guiness nearly 7 years ago from a couple of my friends that were moving and could no longer keep her.   Guiness is such a smart girl, she went through a seeing-eye dog training program.  But, since I think she'd be much better at tracking--she was a flunky, she loves to "wander".

Guiness led a pretty mellow and uneventful life, until I decided that a puppy would be a fun, new twist to our household.  Enter Coda.
Coda is a Collie/German Shepherd Dog cross.  He came to live with us when he was only 10 weeks old.    Here's a 7 week old photo of Coda.   At 10 weeks old, Coda weighed in at 14 lbs.   He behaved very well on his first trip to the vet--all the girls in the office thought he was such a cutie-pie!   At 15 weeks, he weighed in at 25 lbs, three weeks later he was up to 33.5 lbs.   I was a bit surprised at his rapid growth, but he looks so beautiful!  He's so active and constantly trying to get Guiness to play.  She's no longer the couch potato of her past--she runs and plays and even fetches now, just to keep Coda occupied.   She is by far the best dog-sitter I've ever seen!   It's so fun to watch the dynamics between these two dogs.   I can almost see Coda "learning" things from Guiness.
