The sandstone rock formations in this desert valley vary in color from reds and purples, tans and whites, to oranges and yellows. These unique rock formations have been formed by many years of erosion, wind, and climate change.
Looking at this harsh desert landscape, it is hard to believe that ancient people once survived here. Evidence of their lifestyle lives on in the form of petroglyphs and artifacts.
Campgrounds and picnic areas are available throughout this spectacle of natures beauty. The Valley Of Fire State Park abuts The Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
The Valley Of Fire doesn't have much to offer in the way of designated hiking trails but the rock scrambling and free lance hiking are second to none.
