The Red Spot Room houses the Red Spot Collection, old newspapers, back issues of magazines and periodicals, as well as Audio and Visual materials. Only Librarians can enter this room, making it a room that Librarians like to use for their private functions. Most Ex-Co meetings are held here, and so are the occasional Birthday parties. This is where newspapers are cut and catalogued, and books labeled and wrapped. This is also the room where our Mdm Norsiah, our Librarian Assistant, works in.

The Red-spot collection consists of materials that teachers have designated as required and/or recommended reading for students. They are housed in the Red-spot Room and may be requested for at the Library Counter. Besides books, the Red-spot collection also includes:

• Past Examination Papers and Examiners’ Reports on the G.C.E.’A’ Level subjects, Promotional Examination, Mid-Year Examination papers of SRJC, and Preliminary Examination Papers of all the JCs.
• Resource Files, which are collections of newspaper clippings in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil, as well as subject resource files.
