Decorations
An Optional Add-On for Character
Generation
In the Classic Star Trek episode Court
Martial, the computer reads off Captain Kirk's service record and
it is filled with awards and citations. Now your character can have an
illustrious service record too. Every time you roll an "outstanding" OER
during character generation, you can check to see if your character was
decorated and if so, exactly what decoration Star Fleet Command, in its
infinite wisdom, has seen fit to bestow upon him/her. The referee may choose
rather than dice for a specific decoration. You should then invent a
properly heroic incident for which your character received the decoration.
There are also special awards for achieving
high skill levels, graduating with honors, etc. See below for details.

01-75 Commander's Commendation. basically an "attaboy" in your
record, nothing more
76-90 Class III decoration (see below)
91-97 Class II decoration (see below)
98-00 Class I decoration (see below)

If a character;
| graduates Star Fleet Academy with honors or high honors, award them
the Star Fleet Honor Roll |
| obtains a skill level of 85+ in their primary MOS skill, award them a
Departmental Citation |
| is wounded in the line of duty, award them the Starfleet Wound
Citation |
| achieves a skill level of 85+ in Marksmanship (Modern), award them the
Fleet Phaser Shot |
