JUST A MINUTE
The February meeting had an excellent speaker in Elaine C. Cox, MSN, who shared her knowledge and experiences in "Self-Directed Work Teams". She really reached out to make the audience a "Self- Directed Work Team" in the presentation itself.
We were also reminded that we still have a few Greater Tampa Bay ONS T-Shirts for sale for $12. See B.J. if interested. Also, the Oncology Nursing Foundation is selling tickets for it's annual raffle to be held at Congress in May. $5 each or $10 for three. Bring your checkbooks to the next meeting.
Special Projects is working on donating something from our chapter to raffle. Our basket was well received last year. All members should have received their ballots and voted on our new officers. We'll report the results in the next Newsletter.
Since Beth Bertelli-Whidden was the only candidate for President-Elect; the members voted to send her to the Mentorship Workshop in March put on by National ONS.
The members also voted to change the name of the Government Relations Committee to the Health Policy Committee to go along with National's name change. Ruth Lovett keeps us informed of the latest health care issues being addressed on the local and national levels. Don't miss her in depth reports and handouts at the beginning of our monthly meetings.
We were reminded to start thinking about the plan for all RN's taking the OCN in the year 2000 to have BSN's. Those taking the exam before then will be grandfathered in--so don't delay. We currently have $3,454.64 in the Treasury.
