PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography is a special kind of art. It combines the art and science. The photography have to have an artistic touch, feelings and ability to manipulate the scientific knowledge about the amount of light entering the camera. Thus it is quite difficult. Another big problem is that the way our eyes see is very much different from that of the camera. The result differ greatly from our expectation. That is the reality of photography. A lot of pictures are snapshot, not much of photographic values. I am not a good photographer but I believe that some of my shots are of acceptable quality. These are the photographic assignments that I have tried.

The knowledge in photography is not easily gained. I have been a member of numerous photographic club since schooling. Not much was obtained as photography is not theory but practice. When I read the books from great authors such as: Heather Angel - Nature Photography,Brian Bower - Landscape, Michael Buselle - Landscape,John Shaw - Nature Photography, Charlie Waite - Landscape,Gordon Stainforth - Mountain, Wilderness and Climbing, Jim Zuckerman - The Art of Photography, Michael Freeman - General Photography, Freeman Larson - Photography and the Art of Seeing, Lateral Thinking in Photography, John Hedgecoe - General Photography and Fay Goodwin - Land Photography, Black and White Photographyand carried out the assignments suggested, I managed to produce some worhtwhile stuffs. These are the people who transmit their knowledge via books that is worth reading. But you have to be more powerful to arm yourself with cameras and translate theory into reality.
