AINSWORTH, Thomas. Born circa 1834 in Bolton. Thomas married Jane Newton 12 May 1856 at Pemberton Church, the Parish of Wigan, Jane who was the daughter of Jonathan Grime, was born circa 1837 in Bolton. In 1881 the family were living at 2 Regan Street, Halliwell, Bolton, they had four children that we are aware of.


Children of Thomas Ainsworth and Jane Newton:-

AINSWORTH, John. Born 24 October 1856 in Kitt Green, Wigan. Married Hannah Davies circa January 1879 in Sculloates, Drypool, Yorkshire. John and Hannah lived in Bolton before moving to 271 Second Street, Trafford Park. John and Hannah had six children that we are aware of. John was a steam pipe fitter, Hannah died in 1932 and John in 1934 in Trafford Park, they are buried together at Stretford Cemetery. It is believed that John had the hobby of model boat building.

AINSWORTH, Margaret. Born circa 1870 in Hull.

AINSWORTH, Charles. Born circa 1872 in Hull.

AINSWORTH, Peter. Born circa 1874 in Hull.


Children of John Ainsworth and Hannah Davies:-

AINSWORTH, Mary Ann. Born circa 1879 in Hull. Mary Ann was a nurse and was married to Thomas Armstrong. Thomas died young after he returned home from a boxing match in which he had received an injury. Thomas and Mary Ann had one son that we are aware of. Mary Ann then married Thomas Elliot and they may have lived at 99 Hough Lane, Eagley, Bolton. They had three sons that we are aware of, two of the sons were named Robert and Frank.

AINSWORTH, Margaret Jane. Born circa 1880 Hull. Margaret was a matron and was married to James Keane who was a railway signalman. They lived at Waverley Square, Farnworth. James and Margaret had one child that we are aware of, a son who was also a railway signalman. We believe Margaret died December 1969 in the Bolton area.

AINSWORTH, Elizabeth. Born circa 1883 in Hull. Elizabeth was married to Clement Francis I'onn who was a tram driver. They lived in Hargreaves Street, Bolton, they had three children that we are aware of.

AINSWORTH, John William. Born circa 1884 in Bolton. John William, his wife and two sons (their names are not known to us) lived in Bath Street, Bolton.

AINSWORTH, Eva. Born circa 1885 in Bolton. Eva died young at Weston House, at the time of Eva's death her bother John and his wife Hannah were also staying at Weston House.

AINSWORTH, Robert Matthew. Born at 1 Stone Mill Cottage, Halliwell, Bolton in 1892. Robert married Sarah Ellen Hudsmith in 1913, Sarah Ellen (1891-1974) was the daughter of William H. Hudsmith and Elizabeth Griffiths. Robert and Sarah had four children, all daughters. Robert worked as a plumber for the Bolton Water Board. Robert died 8 September 1965, he was cremated and his ashes were interred in his parent's grave at Stretford Cemetery.

Lilly Hannah Ainsworth

AINSWORTH, Lilly Hannah. Born 12 July 1895 at 1 Stone Mill Cottage, Halliwell, Bolton. Married John Williams 30 July 1917 at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Edge Lane, Stretford, Manchester. Minister Henry W Pring, witnesses R Kelley and Ruth Williams. Lilly and John lived at 238 Second Street, Trafford Park before moving to number 233, they had four children. Lilly died 2 January 1970.
