Thank You to University School

US students at the school's Hunting Valley campus The Saturday Tutoring Program is grateful for a grant from The Daniel W. LoPresti '03 Student Philanthropic Board at University School. The Board's intention is "to improve the quality of life for children living in poverty, with an emphasis on education."

It is noteworthy that the members of the LoPresti Board are students. They do hands-on community service, encourage others to serve, and are responsible for allocating funds to Greater Cleveland organizations. In the process, they learn about the difficulties people face in Northeastern Ohio, and they develop skills needed for philanthropic leadership, fund-raising, and grant-writing. It is the school's hope that the experience will inspire the students to pursue philanthropic service as adults.

The tutoring program will use this funding to buy up-to-date SAT/ACT materials, additional educational games, and new dry-erase boards. We thank the Covenant members who suggested that we submit a proposal to the LoPresti Board.
