Range

The Archery
Range is a feudal age building that allows you to produce three main types
of archery units: foot archers, skirmishers, and mounted archers.
Most of the upgrades for these units are not done in the archery range
building but in the blacksmith.

Barracks

The barracks is
available in the Dark Age and allows you to make five units throughout the
ages: the militia, man-at-arms, long swordsman, two-handed swordsman, and
the champion. The barracks also has special technologies of tracking
and squire.

Blacksmith

Wise use of the
technologies it offers may mean the difference between taking down an
enemy's castle and being slaughtered at his gates. Players who tend
to overlook the blacksmith in favor of trying to get a castle up more
quickly usually pay for it with bodies all over the field. The armor
upgrades in AoK are very important, much more so than in Age of Empires or
Rise of Rome.

Dock

The dock is your
passage to the sea, giving you the ability to both create a naval force
and establish a strong economy of fishing.

Mill

The mill is used to deposit food and research techs that improve the food
production of your farms. It
can be built right away in the Dark Ages. Once built, the mill enables you
to build the farm, which is also available in the Dark Ages. The mill is
also required before you can build the market in the second age.

Workshop

The siege
workshop opens your civilization up to new weapons, such as the mangonel,
onager, and battering ram. These more powerful weapons can change
the flow of the game.

Stable

The mounted
units of the stable are the fastest in the game and serve many purposes
from scouting to engaging in large battles. Scouts, light cavalry,
