KARACHI: President of the Jamiaat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) and head of the Muttahida Majlis -e-Amal (MMA) Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani has said that the whole Muslim World stands behind the Iraqis and all evil designs of the US to occupy Iraq would fail to accomplish desired results.

He stated this while speaking at an annual Shahadat Conference organised by JUP the other day. Maulana, who had gone to Islamabad to attend oath-taking session of the Senate, was driven straight from airport to the conference where he was welcomed by a large number of participants of the conference.

About aggressive designs of the US towards Islamic countries, he said that the US had unleashed a vicious campaign against Muslims world over to occupy their vast natural resources. He added that the US launched massive attack on Iraq in the past to disintegrate the country but could not achieve desired goals and this time fate of its nefarious intentions would not be different from the past.

He slammed Muslim rulers for watching the misdemeanors of the US with painful silence, which do not augur well for their future. He, however, hoped that the time was not far away when they woke up from their slumber and play their due role in discharging their moral obligations.

Pointing at some elements, who are questioning logic of Islamic parties of Pakistan in
extending their support to Iraq, he said that the country is a sacred place for every Muslim across the globe. Mufti Abdul Haleem Siddiqui, Hafiz Mohammad Taqi and
others also addressed the conference.
