Chloe was my previous cat (picture and links to other pictures above).  I had to put her to sleep June 2000 as her kidney problems became too much for her at the age of 9.5yrs.  She had kidney failure two years prior and made an incredible recovery, living a very normal life up until about 10 days before the end.   I had her from January 1, 1996 to June 7, 2000 - she was 5yrs old when I got her from the vet in Canmore Alberta.

I was going to wait to get another cat, but I have no will power and adopted an SPCA cat two days later - June 9, 2000.  He was 1.5yrs old and has earned his new name - Rascal (Mom suggested I name him Bugger, but I intend to break him, not the other way around).   Rascal is grey with white socks, stomach/chest and a white streak up the middle of his face - looks like Sylverster except grey (he is very cute).  He likes other animals, dogs and cats, and sometimes even stalks the dog for fun.  I'm very glad I did get him right away - it makes it so much easier to get over losing Chloe ( my precious).  Cat lovers will agree, it's so nice having a cuddly kitty around.

Meika's my big baby, pooch that is.  She loves cats, although they generally don't return the affection.  It could be her approach - antagonizing them to get them to play is her usual tactic.  The day I brought Rascal home, I had to tie Meika to the coffee table for an hour to let the cat get use to the house before being pounched on.  She was so excited to get a new cat to play with, and this one even plays back some times!  When Meika first arrived in our household, Chloe hid for the first three days before getting the nerve to come downstairs and face the new terror known as Meika.  Meika arrived at Christmas 1997 at the age of 6 yrs old - my parents raised her.
