After graduating from USC in 1985, I met a Catholic nun at a National Organization for Women awards ceremony. Her life of political advocacy and social services inspired me.
Soon after, I became the live-in coordinator of a transitional housing program for homeless families. A small collective of young feminists developed a grand vision for expanding from this first house, Casa Nuestra.
