You've ventured into my paradise!
My country home!
The windows are open, and a gentle breeze is sending
the smells of grass, horses, and clean laundry through
the house.
We can sit here and chat if you'd like,
or we can take a walk down the country lane.
This is West Virginia.
This is the land that is still living a hundred years ago.
If you stop and listen, the wind will bring to you
the voices of the indians creeping through the shadows,
the sound of an axe rings clear through the trees.
When you wander back in these hills, you can
forget the world around you.
Forget your worries, forget all the problems.
Let's go take a walk down that country road...
Though I now live in Georgia,
I decided not to change my front page at all because,
though I'm far away now,
the mountains will always hold my heart.
