To Be a Sister

   The Lord has given us many duties to accomplish in this life. It is up to us to fulfill them, do them willingly, and to do them with the right attitude. One duty that most of us girls have is being a sister. There is more than just being called a sister, it is something that we need to practice.
   I would like to share these few statements with you, that you might catch my vision a bit clearer,
"One of the sweetest places a young girl may have in any home is that of a big sister. What a field of happiness and usefulness is open to the girl with little brothers and sisters! They are ready to look up to her as a guide and a pattern in everything. If she manages rightly, she can have unlimited influence with them." (Karen Andreola in Beautiful Girlhood.)
   Our desire should be that of doing the will of the Father and to do those things which would please Him. As it says in John 8:29, "...I do always those things that please him." Is that our heart cry? Is that what we truly and sincerely desire? If it is, we would be finding ourselves drawing closer to God, and trying, with all that is within us, to fulfill His desire that He has for us.
   I came across many verses that pertain to the character of being a sister. 1 Corinthians 9:27a says much,
"But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:…". Many of us are "big sisters" and yet many of us are not, but that does not count any of us out of this category. We
