Established in 1941, The School of Planning and Architecture is one of the premiere institutions in India offering full time Bachelors Programmes in Architecture, Planning and Building Enginering and Management. Recognizing the specialised nature of the fields in which the school had attained eminence, the Government India, through the ministry of HRD conferred on the School of Planning and Architecture the status of "Deemed to be a University" in 1979.
The school offers full time 3 semester post-graduate programmes leading to Master's Degrees. The programme include courses of theories, seminars, projects and thesis thriugh which a student may acquire knowledge and develop intellectual skills.
The location of the school in New Delhi, the national capital, offers opportunities for participation in the city's rich cultural life and interaction with various national, as well as international instituitions; thus attracting students from all over India and from the other countries.
In additions to a full time faculty of over a hundered, the school involves a large number of experts from various fields for its academic program as Visiting Faculty. From a humble beginning of a small institution in 1941, the school has developed into a large institution, spread over 3 campuses providing an excellent environment for students in their academic and professional endeavour
