Springpole Fun Photos

A springpole is nothing more than a simple pulling apparatus that allows for strong dogs to build up their muscles when
made correctly. I am no pro at making springpoles nor do I claim to be, but I did decide to try one and this is how I made
it. First I took a nylon dog collar nothing fancy just $2.96 at your local Wal-Mart (but it should be able to support atleast
200 pounds). Next, I took a spring similar to a garage door spring, but a little smaller, you can get them at any hardware
store for around $5 to $10 depending on the size you need. Lastly I took about 4 feet of heavy duty rope it cost about
$1 / foot. So for around $12.00 I bought the best tug toy an American bulldog could ever want! Some people also tie a chewing
material to the rope such as cowhide or burlap, but I just put a knot at the end for Ruger to chew on. Caution: always supervise
your dog while working a springpole you never know what the forces of nature could do!

Here Ruger is shown working the springpole with all four paws on the ground exercising his jaws, neck, back, chest, forearms,
and hind quarters!

This photo is an excellant example of how the springpole works his chest and forearms, not to mention his neck. Plus
look at how much of a good time he is having!

This picture is showing those hindquarters in action!

Now please tell me how this could be anymore dangerous than playing tug of war with his owner! I don't think it could
be, atleast not for the dog!
