Jus conubii – right of intermarriage with patricians
Justae nuptiae – legal marriages
Spondeo – promise, sponsa – promised, engaged

Repudium renuntiare – to send a rejection, cancel an engagement
Dos – dowry

Far – spelt, type of wheat used to make cake offered to Jupiter.
Camillus – boy who carried utensils for offering in basket, both parents living
Feliciter – good luck, happiness
Versus fescennini – songs full of coarse jests and personal remarks, sung during procession
Talassius, talassio – marriage cry
Stola matronalis – matronĄ¯s costume
Matronalia – motherĄ¯s day, kalends of March
