    My name is Katie, I am the typical 13 year old.....except I spend most of my life on the internet. We didn't even have the internet until the fourth grade when I decided that I would just play around with it. I started at around 11:00 and by 1:00, I had had a 25 ft phone cord stretching from the kitchen to the computer. Then I tried to get on AOL. By 9:00 that night, I had signed on for the first time. I lived on the internet from there and began learning about HTML and how to build web pages.  I have had this web page since September 29, 1999. Since then it has been through many changes from just a page about dolphins to a page about dolphins and Me. Then I gave it a full makeover and changed it to the environment. From there, it grew to many pages, and now it consists of over 70 pages. 

    I am also getting into web designing. After receiving my  first check, I thought that it was really neat and that I would make graphics and design sites for people upon request which is something new and fun for me.

I really like dolphins and orcas. But, I like all animals. I don't have the 'usual' pets like a dog or cat. I have two hamsters named Chip and Cosmo. A canary named Snickers, I have a betta in my room named Fins.  We also have a fishpond in the backyard where we are currently raising tadpoles and have about 5 fish. 

I also like astronomy. I got my first telescope a while back, it wasn't anything special, but I could see the moon with it. I saved up my money and got a better one. It was okay, but a little flimsy,  it was hard to focus on things. Now, I have a Meade ETX. It was pretty expensive, but well worth the view of the Orion Nebula, a close-up of the Pleiades star cluster and all kinds of globular clusters in the night sky. I also stumbled upon Jupiter one day which excited me very much, after seeing Jupiter, that very same night, I ran into Saturn. It was turned kind-of sideways, it looked like it had ears!

I have played the piano since I was five. It's a lot of fun once you start getting into real songs. I almost quit a few times, but I am glad I didn't, because now, it is a lot of fun to play songs that I hear off the radio and songs I know. 

I am not really into sports. I enjoy watching them a lot.  I play soccer and I am goalie. My position in life as a natural leader helps in in this position, I am usually the one to take charge which sometimes gets me into trouble, but it's a good quality to posses. Goalie is my best position, I am good at field, though I usually don't handle the ball too well, I am not afraid of the people on the other team, and usually confront them with elbows and a complimentary slam against the wall. However, I don't play field often AT ALL next to never, so I don't get much practice at that. I do think that I'm a good goalie. I play softball. I am a small person so I am no power hitter, but I am fast so I usually beat it (the throw to first) out. Being small, I am into gymnastics which is a lot of fun for me. I have been going since I was four. This I have to say is my best sport because you don't need to be huge to do well.

I like photography. I just got a digital camera, because it took so long to develop pictures and it costs so much. I have taken a lot of Photos. It's easier than painting and drawing but still allows me to express myself. View my photos!
