The Bruins need an exceptional season from Joe Thornton and Glen Murray. This may be the year for Thornton to step up and show the hockey world what the scouts saw when he was drafted. As for Murray if he repeats the season he had last year that would be a blessing for the Bruins as he has never shown his offensive touch before.
If Bryan Berard returns to his old form the Bruins will make the playoffs. Berard only scored 2 goals and 27 assists in all 82 games. The total isn't much considering what numbers he use to put on the table. The former 1st overall draft choice has never and most likely will never return to what he used to be before his horrific eye injury in March 2000.
The weak link is goaltending with Dafoe still unsigned it makes you wonder if the Bruins are planning on going with Shields and Grahame for an entire season. In my opinion that wouldn't be a smart move considering Sheilds nor Grahame has proved anything at the NHL level. The Bruins are going to make a large downfall without Bill Guerin and Byron Dafoe.
