Mission For Kids Fighting
Aids, Inc.
We will provide services
other agencies do not give to children in their immediate location, who
are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. We will provide support in
maintaining the best quality of life possible in the least restrictive
surroundings for as long as possible.
Our Goals to include:
1. We will implement
a crisis intervention that all clients and their family members can reach
someone when the problems of every day life and the illness are too
stressful. We will provide a personal but professional solution.
2. Services include helping
clients; children in this case, to actively stay at home, in familiar
surroundings, to be with their families. It has been proven they
survive longer and have a better quality of life in familiar surroundings.
3. We will constantly
strive to provide whatever services will be necessary for the well being
of the children in our care.
Our objectives to
include:
1. We will refer or assist
them in making physician contact or send a volunteer to the crisis to help
alleviate the stress. We will attempt to assign a "buddy
system" for each area so our clients have a person to consult.
2. If there is a hospice in
their area we will urge them to use that service or help refer them to
it. We will bring relief in the form of visits, supplies or food
when they are a necessity for surviving comfortably.
3. We aim to educate Middle
Tennessee regarding HIV, the transmission and prevention from a pediatric
aspect. We will refer all persons over the age of 21 to
organizations that provide services to adults only and reserve our
resources exclusively for children. We will willingly work with
other organizations.
We will not discriminate
against any race, religion, age or gender. |
