Mars: Karttikeya.
Agnibhu "fire born." Son of fire electric.
This paper
considers the regent of the planet Mars as being commander of the seven sacred brothers of light. As being the informing logos
from one of the Seven Rishis thus informing as the logos of the Sixth ray via Mars and as the informing deity and creator
of this planet Earth along with Venus.
With regard
to Mars and Venus, I postulate Mars as conducting the positive energy of the Seven Rishis and Venus as relating to the negative
energy of the Pleiades. JPC.
"The constellations
of the Great Bear and of the Pleiades constitute the greatest mystery of occult nature." (S.D. Vol. II, 580)
"Until the
mystery of the Great Bear is revealed and is known as it is, and until the influence of Pleiades is comprehended, and the
true significance of the cosmic Triangle formed by
The seven Rishis of the Great Bear,
The seven planetary Logoi of our solar system,
The seven Pleiades or Sisters,
is revealed,
the karma of the seven sacred planets will remain unknown. All that we can see is its working out in the solar system. The
intricacy of the whole subject will be apparent when it is borne in mind that not only do these three groups form a cosmic
triangle, but that within that triangle many lesser triangles have to be studied. Any one of the seven Rishis with one of
the seven Sisters may form a subsidiary triangle, and all must thus be studied." TCF 801.
"These three
groups of solar bodies (The Great Bear, the Pleiades and Sirius) are of paramount influence where the spiral cyclic activity
of our system is concerned. EA 642.
There is
an eternal cyclic law of re-births, and the series is headed at every new Manvantaric dawn by those who had enjoyed their
rest from re-incarnations in previous Kalpas for incalculable AEons -- by the highest and the earliest Nirvanees. It was the
turn of those "Gods" to incarnate in the present Manvantara. SD2 232.
Then it touches
upon the mystery of the Devas, and even Gods, having to pass through states which it was agreed to refer to as "Inmetallization,
Inherbation, Inzoonization and finally Incarnation," and explains this by hinting at the necessity of failures even in the
ethereal races of Dhyan Chohans. Concerning this it says:
"Now there
are, and there must be, failures in the ethereal races of the many classes of Dhyan-Chohans, or Devas (progressed entities
of a previous planetary period), as well as among men. But still, as the failures are too far progressed and spiritualized
to be thrown back forcibly from Dhyan-Chohanship into the vortex of a new primordial evolution through the lower Kingdoms,
this then happens. Where a *new solar system has to be evolved these Dhyan-Chohans are borne in by influx.* SD2 233.
"The number
seven is closely connected with the occult significance of the Pleiades, the six present and the 7th hidden." (Vol. II, 654)
Appendix EA.
Identical
with Agni, the fire-god, or Sun. In the Mahabharata, Karttikeya, "the six-faced Mars," is the son of Rudra or Siva, Self-born
without a mother from the seed of Siva cast into the fire. But Karttikeya is generally called *Agnibhu, "fire born*."
Skanda or
Karttikeya (god of War, the six-faced planet Mars astronomically), a Kumara, or virgin-youth, born of Agni. SD2 382.
In India
they are connected with their nursling, the war god, Karttikeya. It is the Pleiades (in Sanskrit, Krittika) who gave the god
their name, for Karttikeya is the planet Mars, astronomically.
As a god
he is the son of Rudra, born without the intervention of a woman. He is a Kumara, a "virgin youth" again, generated in the
fire from the Seed of Siva -- the holy spirit -- hence called Agni-bhu. SD2 619.
Through the
fiery processes of war and strife, brought to the individual through the influence of the planetary ruler, Mars, the God of
War, a needed purification takes place. EA 96.
The Pleiades
are the supposed wives of the seven Rishis of the Great Bear. They are also the nurses of the God of War, Mars, the commander
of the celestial armies." (Vol. II, 579) Appendix EA.
Which would
make Karttikeya identical with Michael, the "leader of the celestial hosts" and, like himself, a virgin Kumara. Verily he
is the "Guha," the mysterious one, as much so as are the Saptarshis and the Krittika (seven Rishis and the Pleiades), for
the interpretation of all these combined, reveal to the adept the greatest mysteries of occult nature. One point is worth
mention in this question of cross and circle, as it bears strongly upon the elements of fire and water, which play such an
important part in the circle and cross Symbolics.
Like Mars,
who is alleged by Ovid to have been born of a mother alone (Juno), without the participation of a father, or like the Avatars
(Krishna, for instance), in the West as in the East -- Karttikeya is born, but in a still more miraculous manner -- begotten
by neither father nor mother, but out of a seed of Rudra Siva, via Agni, who dropped it into the Ganges. SD2 550.
The Pleiades
(Krittika) are the nurses of Karttikeya, the God of War (Mars of the Western Pagans), who is called the Commander of the celestial
armies -- or rather of the Siddhas (translated Yogis in heaven, and holy sages on the earth) -- "Siddha-sena," which would
make Karttikeya identical with Michael, the "leader of the celestial hosts" and, like himself, a virgin Kumara.
Thus he is
born from fire and water -- a "*boy bright as the Sun* and beautiful as the moon." Hence he is called Agnibhuva (Agni's son)
and Ganga-putra (Son of Ganges). Add to this the fact that the Krittika, his nurses, as Matsya Purana shows, are presided
over by Agni, or, in the authentic words -- "The seven Rishis are on a line with the brilliant Agni," and hence are called
Agneya --and the connection is easy to follow. SD2 550.
JC: Mars:
Six faced. Six heads. Agnibhuva (Agni's son) of the Seven Rishis.
The age when
the symbolism of the Seven Rishis and their connection with the Pleiades began. When Karttikeya was delivered to them by the
gods to be nursed, the Krittika were only six -- whence Karttikeya is represented with six heads; but when the poetical fancy
of the early Aryan symbologists made of them the consorts of the Seven Rishis, they were seven. SD2 551.
JC: Mars:
Karttikeya identical with Michael, the "leader of the celestial hosts" and, like himself, a virgin Kumara.
Lucifer,
a fallen cherub from the stars. SD2 501.
Michael was
denominated by the kabalists and the Gnostics, "the Saviour," the angel of the Sun, and angel of Light. IU2 489.
"And there
was war in Heaven. . . . Michael and his angels fought against the Dragon. SD1 194.
Michael is
Prince of Water, who has seven inferior spirits subordinate to him. IU1 206.
They are
the Archangels of Christianity, those who refuse -- as Michael did in the latter system. SD1 88.
Hence also
the War in Heaven of Michael and his Host against the Dragon (Jupiter and Lucifer-Venus), when a third of the stars of the
rebellious host was hurled down into Space, and "its place was found no more in Heaven." As said long ago --"This is the basic
and fundamental stone of the secret cycles. SD1 203.
The great
stream of living energy which is manifesting itself in our Earth scheme of evolution is conditioned by a temperament, an attitude
and an orientation that is that of a "Divine Rebel." It is only rebellion that produces pain and sorrow, but this rebellion
is inherent and innate in the Deity of our planet Himself, the "One in Whom we live and move and have our being." It is, therefore,
a tendency greater than the individual unit. It is only possible to express this amazing truth about the planetary Life under
a veil of symbology and in terms of human thought. In this there is ever a risk, for men interpret all they read and hear
and experience in terms of themselves. EP2 98.
The Kumaras,
the "Virgin-Angels," (to whom Michael and Gabriel, the Archangels, both belong), the *divine "Rebels"* SD2 246.
The 'Light-bringer,'
the Lucifer, the 'Morning Star,' the 'Son of the morning' -- the very highest title 'out of heaven, 'for in heaven it cannot
be, but out of heaven it is everything. In an apparently incredible side of his character -- qualities are of no sex -- this
archangel, St. Michael, is the invincible, sexless, celestial 'Energy' -- to dignify him by his grand characteristics -- the
invisible 'Virgin Combatant. SD2 238.
Mars and
Venus: "The Two in One."
Suffice it
is to say that the Archangel Michael is called "the invincible virgin combatant" as he "refused to create," which would connect
him with both Sana Sujata and the Kumara who is the God of War.[Another Kumara, the "God of War" is called in the Hindu the
"eternal celibate"-"the virgin warrior." He is the Aryan St. Michael.] SD3 328.
If the Roman
Catholics are right on this point, so are the Occultists when they claim that the angels worshipped in the Church of Rome
are none else than their "Seven Planets," the Dhyan Chohans of Buddhistic Esoteric Philosophy, or the Kumaras, "the mind-born
sons of Brahm ," known under the patronymic of Vaidhatra.
The identity
between the Kumaras, the Builders or cosmic Dhyan Chohans, and the Seven Angels of the Stars, will be found without one single
flaw if their respective biographies are studied, and especially the characteristics of their chiefs, Sanat-Kumara (Sanat
Sujata), and Michael the Archangel. Together with the Kabirim (Planets), the name of the above in Chald a, they were all "divine
Powers" (Forces). Fuerot says that the name Kabiri was used to denote the seven sons of , meaning Pater Sadic, Cain, or Jupiter,
or again of Jehovah. There are seven Kumaras-four exoteric and three secret-the names of the latter being found in the S nkhya
Bh shya, by Gaudap d charya.
[The three
secret names are "Sana, Sanat Sujata, and Kapila: " while the four exoteric Gods are called Sanat Kumara, Sananda, Sanaka,
and Sanatana.] They are all "Virgin Gods," who remain eternally pure and innocent and decline to create progeny. In their
primitive aspect, these Aryan seven "mind-born sons" of God are not the regents
of the planets, but *dwell far beyond the planetary region*.
But the same
mysterious transference from one character or dignity to another is found in the Christian Angel-scheme. The "Seven Spirits
of the Presence" attend perpetually on God, and yet we find them under the same names of Mikael, Gabriel, Raphael, etc., as
"Star-regents" or the informing deities of the seven planets.
Suffice it
is to say that the Archangel Michael is called "the invincible virgin combatant" as he "refused to create," which would connect
him with both Sana Sujata and the Kumara who is the God of War.[Another Kumara, the "God of War" is called in the Hindu the
"eternal celibate"-"the virgin warrior." He is the Aryan St. Michael.] SD3 328.
Unit or "Rishi
of the Superior Constellation" as He is called, who is the informing Life of one of the seven stars of the Great Bear, *and
our planetary prototype*. TCF 990.
Now Mars
was the lord of birth and of death, of generation and of destruction, of ploughing, of building, of sculpture or stone-cutting,
of Architecture . . . . in fine, of all . . . . ARTS. He was the primeval principle, disintegrating into the modification
of two opposites for production. Astronomically, too, he held the birthplace of the day and year, the place of its increase
of strength, Aries, and likewise the place of its death, Scorpio.
He held the
house of Venus, and that of the Scorpion. He, as birth, was good; as death, was Evil. As good, he was light; as bad, he was
night. As good, he was man; as bad, he was woman. He held the cardinal points, and as Cain, or Vulcan, or Pater Sadic, or
Melchizadek, he was lord of the Ecliptic, or balance, or line of adjustment, and therefore was THE JUST ONE. The ancients
held to there being *seven planets, or great gods, growing out of eight*, and Pater Sadik, the Just or Right One, *was lord
of the eighth, which was Mater Terra*. ("Source of Measures," p. 186-70.) SD2 393.
The Lord
of the World, the Ancient of Days, Sanat Kumara, the planetary Logos, Melchizedek. EXT
287.
In a very
real sense, Sanat Kumara is the incarnation of the Lord of the Ray Himself; He is the Silent Watcher, the great Sacrifice
for humanity. TCF 728.
VENUS AND
MARS
Venus and
Mars are Father and Mother to the Earth and *They are in reality one entity*, the *feminine part ruling Venus and the masculine
part ruling Mars*. Therefore the regent of the Red Star, known as Hilarion, and Venus, the ruler of the Blue Star, brought
this Earth into existence and are protecting it.
Venus was
born immaculately from the ocean. That entity is sometimes known as Aphrodite and Astarte. She is also known as the Goddess
of Love, Beauty and Music.
At one time
Mars was a great sun and when its cycle of sunship ceased it became a planet, and the regent of the Red Ray now rules it.
The Earth also has its ruler, but under supervision, direction and protection of the Two in One mentioned.
Venus is
the universal feminine principle and gives the Mother touch. Mars is strength and can make and unmake worlds. *Both Mars and
Venus are mated, and the Two in One watch* carefully the progress of the Earth and its humanity.
Infinitely
more could be said on this interesting subject and relationship but that is left to your interior search and intuition. To
know that we are under cosmical protection is in itself glorious and comforting.
Look within
and you will know the truth. TT2 298. Hilarion
EVOLUTION
OF THE EARTH
The earth
is not alone on the scale of evolution. Every atom of the Universe must go through the same process, must win its crown. *The
earth has been as high as are some of the other planets in past ages, but it is not now*. The Secret Doctrine gives you all
the necessary information concerning its fall. These Books were written by us for you. Mars and Venus have more to do with
the evolution of the earth than all the other planets. They are in one sense Father and Mother of the earth. TT3 58.
