I would like to buy a new computer, some time after the year 2000. Because, I have heard of 14 gigabyte hard drives, a quantum leap forward in 1,000 MHz -CPU that might be as high as and even higher than 6,400 MHz in the future. They will be able to run even more sophisticated operating systems and software. I might start with a clone, with a good main board, because, there the easiest to upgrade.
For now, I am happy, with my 200 CPU because I had the cache upgraded from a 256, to a 512, L2 pipe line-cache, that is nearly the speed of a P2-233 MHz computer. It has no low memory problems, plays multimedia software; and is ready for Windows-2000, because it meets, its system requirements.
The computers in the future will also be less expensive, because the computer prices go down, as the competition increases. And, the computer monitors might be bigger than 19 inches, in the Y2K, also.
