"WHEN THEY SAW THE STAR, THEY WERE OVERJOYED"
- Matthew 2:10

Matthew tells the story of the Magi, ancient wise men bringing gifts to the infant Jesus. When they arrived at the manger, the Magi did not know what to expect. Although they knew this was a newborn child of promise, they did not know what he would grow up to be. They only knew he was worthy of the best they had, because he was a child who would change the world.

EPIPHANY CHURCH:
THE FIRST OF MANY
A new church has been born, following the lessons of Jesus, and continuing his ministry in the world. Epiphany Community Church in Fenton, Michigan is a newborn member of the body of Christ, the church universal.

Beginning in 1996 with only seven members, the church has grown tenfold in five years. Epiphany was named not only for the story of the Magi, but also for God's surprise in the world, and for awakenings, insights and new beginnings.

THE JOY EXTENDS
UUs around the country are finding joy and inspiration as they learn about this growing community. They sense that God is doing a new thing through creating Epiphany, and they are eager to join the congregation's new life and to support the emergence of other UU Christian congregations. Organizations that have already come forward to support Epiphany include: The Council of Christian Churches Within the UUA, the Evangelical Missionary Society, First Parish Church in Weston, King's Chapel, First Church in Salem (Unitarian), and the Fund for Unitarian Universalism. Members of Epiphany Church are profoundly grateful for this support and that of many individuals--and they know that they have a mission beyond their own walls.
