The Final Battles

It seemed that the humans and The Mushrooms were fighting and endless battle. Even though The Mushrooms had control of Earth, they were loosing troops and the humans really annoyed them. Then The Mushrooms discovered an ancient piece of human technology called the Holo-Projector (pronounced hollow projector). They used it to project images of mushrooms, and they equipped the projections with Anti-Human rays. They were unstoppable! Since they weren't really there, the humans' weapons had no effect on the projections. The Mushrooms decided they could stop fighting so they brought all of their warriors back to The Mushroom Zone and had a grand old ticker tape parade for all of their returning heroes. The humans decided to lay low until they could find a way to stop the projections, which only attacked when told to do so. During their 2,000 year hideout, the humans invented the Blast-o-Matic, a really cool yet not-quite-understood weapon. It could be used to blast things hundreds of miles away when set on "Low", or blast holes in 18 foot thick titanium walls when set on "Medium". The "High" setting was never tested successfully, because the lab was blown somewhere over the rainbow in the test. While in hiding, the humans also began construction of their own holo-projector, which was about ten times a powerful (it could project ten times as many objects at a time) as its mushroom counterpart. Then Smith finally discovered the location of the Mushrooms' Holo-Projector and blew it into many tiny, itty bitty, little pieces. All of the projected mushrooms disappeared, and the humans continued construction of their Holo-Projector. During the construction, teams were sent to the Mushrooms Zone in an attempt to destroy Shroom, the really evil and really big (100 feet) mushroom leader. Reeman was promoted to Special Forces so that he could get a shot at suicide bombing Shroom. Most of the attacks failed to even get inside Shroom's temple. Those that did simply made Shroom mad and never came back. The most heavily armed mission was joined by Ericson (also promoted to Special Forces). When they arrived at Shroom's temple, Ericson accidentally activated the Vac-o-Matic and sucked up the twenty-seven nuclear bombs they had brought with them. Unfortunately, the Vac-o-Matic pulled him out of The Mushroom Zone before it could suck up Shroom's temple. Another attempt saw Ericson in charge of the weapons, which he promptly forgot.

It was around this time that Shroom decided it was time to wipe out every last human on Earth. He located the hidden humans with the latest mushroom scanning technology, specifically the technique of spreading dust all over the earth and listening for sneezes. (The word "the" was used 64 times in this page so far!).
