Breeding is easy, and it helps increase the population of dragons.

First I want to clear up some things:

  1. You MUST have already bonded with a dragon.  No candidates are allowed to try and impress!  Only Dragonriders, please!

  2. If you have an orange don't try to impress red.  they will look for someone more interesting to mate with.

  3. You may turn down any dragon that you think isn't good enough for your dragon.  If you don't think the impression dance was creative, don't mate with him! It is best to mate with dragons of the same level, or one level higher.

  4. Males should look to impress females of the same level or one level lower.  Only very lucky males will impress a lady of a higher level than them.

  5. Only females are permitted to post on the board.  Males must email the female an impression dance (be creative!) to try to impress the female.  If you don't see any females you like, you can always try to impress one that isn't on this list, but your chances of impressing her are much slimmer.

  6. Make everything appropriate and always PG.  I don't want to hear about any sexual emails being sent to a dragon rider.

  7. If you impress or are impressed, you wait a cyber year (1/2 a week to two weeks) before hatching a clutch.

  8. I get to name all the dragons in the clutch and choose their colors.

  9. Just to let you know- it is impossible to get dragons above the highest ranking parent's rank in your clutch.  Example: A green and an Orange cannot get Reds and Blacks.  Such a clutch would contain greens, blues, and oranges.

  10. Once you mate you are always "married".  There is no divorcing!  You can however, have several clutches, but wait at least two cyber years (two through three weeks) between clutches.

  11. Rarities should breed only with reds and blacks, the breeding of two rares could cause deformation.

  12. You aremore likely to get a mutation if one of the parents is a rarity (because of genetics), but it is possible to get them when breeding any two dragons together.

  13. Inbreeding is not allowed.
