HAVOC CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FEDERATION

In 1998, EHWF (Extreme Hardcore Wrestling Federation) revolutionised hardcore wrestling; with its big budget productions, progressive workers and inventive gimmicks, it became the hottest league in the land for the next year. There were even stars from the "Big Two" that competed in EHWF such as Ken Shamrock and Raven. The small arena in Long Island, Newyork, that the shows were held in was sold out every week. Because of this, EHWF owner Adam Mercer closed the EHWF down for a month to get the ball rolling and to make things bigger.

During the brief closure, the Extreme Hardcore Wrestling Federation forged links with a Canadian promotion called Slamboree Pro Wrestling. The promotion was re-named Slamboree Hardcore Wrestling and upon re-opening, the organisation gethered wrestlers from both sides of the border making SHW the biggest independent federation in exsistence. The antics of men like the Human Torture Rack, Ash, Punisher and Father Paul propelled the federation to it's peak. Unfortunately a bust up between owner Adam Mercer and numerous top line stars spelled the end for the federation and in January 1999 the SHW doors were shut never to re-open.

The masses who looked not only for sports, but also entertainment, began to look elsewhere for a new federation. Meanwhile, Using money he had put away somewhere, the once famous Mercer pledged that he would once again bring back wrestling to it's peak and give the fans something fresh. In December 1999, He purchased the HWF and so Havoc Championship Wrestling Federation was born.

For the next five months, the HCWF set about breathing life back into wrestling and gave talent starved fans of the big two something fresh to watch. The first incarnation of the HCWF was dominated by Fuel and Nivek. Soon after, the two sold out arenas across North America battling for ownership of the organisation and Adam Mercer could do nothing, but watch from the side lines as his 'baby' achieved success in the hands of two different owners. The success was short lived as it soon became obivious that Fuel and Nivek were unable to successfully run the federation together. There was no longer a big "angle" behind the matches to keep the fans happy. The repetive nature and inability to groom fresh stars made HCWF skate the verge of bankruptcy. Mercer quickly took the HCWF back and has rebuilt the company into the once fresh and action packed product it was. The Days of the new HCWF are ahead. And only good things can come of this. The revolution has begun. Professional wrestling as we know it will never be the same again.
