The Pinfire ignition system was invented by Casimer LeFauchaux in 1828 but was not widely seen until the 1850's and lived on into the 1920's in South America, I've heard that they also imported a quanity of various pistols past the blockade during the Civil War. Don't know how much of that is true but I will try to find out in the next week or so. |
