Cat Ladies, Inc. is a non-profit, non-kill animal shelter and rescue operation, located in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. We became active in 1990, when we were needed to care for 6 mother cats and 57 kittens! We are dedicated to helping stray, abandoned, and injured animals (mostly cats) receive the health care they need and find loving indoor homes. Our very survival depends on the generosity of fellow animal lovers.
All of our cats are tested for FeLv(feline leukemia) and FIV(feline immuno-deficiency virus), both very deadly diseases. Our other animals are tested for whatever is reccommended by our veterinarian. All of our animals are tested and dewormed(if necessary), vaccinated, and spayed or neutered, if old enough.
Our animals are kept in foster homes, which allows us to treat each one individually. We do not limit the time our animals stay with us. We keep them until a loving home is found.
We conduct a thorough interview with prospective owners. We require references, one of which must be a veterinarian. Our cats are adopted to indoor homes only. If necessary, we will take back any animal adopted from us.
We operate solely on public donations. We receive no government assistance.
All monetary donations of $5.00 or more with a stamped, self-addressed, legal-sized envelope will receive a hearty THANK YOU and helpful hints for the care of their pet. (Our hints include: cats, dogs, rabbits, goldfish, ferrets, guinea pigs, and more.)
