Nights Passing

Tonight is a night for dreaming.

It's a night to bid farewell

to the shadows of the past

before stepping into the promises

of tomorrow's dawning.

It's a night to walk among the stars,

to walk

in the darkness of the waning moon

through the garden of my memories,

such that nothing can interfere

with the studies of the heart

and mind.

This night shall I slowly dance in sorrow,

releasing those things

which must not be bound,

and silently crying into healing

those parts of me

pained

by the parting.

Above me, the silent moon wanes,

the crone passes away

to give way

to the birthing of a new moon;

a new cycle of life.

So it goes with my heart...

So in the shadows

shall I mist-like wander,

touching with newness of wonder,

fondness of remembrance,

and distraction of sorrow

those tender visions

associated with memories

I fear I must now let pass...
