At the very top of the page, in the drop down menu, choose "Certificates, Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce" to see important information about records available, current fees, and forms that can be printed to order records. Records Available: Birth - Limited records of Florida births dating from 1865 Death - Limited Florida death records dating from 1877 Marriage - Marriage records dating back to June 1927. Records before this date are only available from the clerk of the circuit court in the county where the marriage license was issued. Marriage records filed in the office beginning 1972 also include the marriage application. Divorce - Florida divorces dating from June 1927. Divorces occurring before this date are only available from the clerk of the circuit court in the county where the divorce was granted. A fire in Jacksonville in May of 1901 destroyed most records prior to that date.

Vital records have been registered in Massachusetts since 1635. Statewide data collection began in 1841. The Registry of Vital Records and Statistics in the Department of Public Health has the records of births, deaths, and marriages for Massachusetts from 1906 to the present. Every five years, the earliest five years of records maintained at the Registry are transferred to the custody of the State Archives. The next transfer will occur in 2001. After the transfer any restrictions that may be on the transferred records will be removed. Records from 1841-1905 are located at The State Archives, Columbia Point, 220 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston, MA 02125; phone: (617) 727-2816. The city or town clerk in the city or town where the event occurred has all records prior to 1841. Also, copies of records since 1841 are available at the city or town where the event occurred.

The town or city clerk's office is the place where vital events are officially recorded in New Hampshire. Today each town or city sends copies of its vital events to the Bureau of Vital Records. Statewide compilation, however, did not begin until a law was passed in 1866, and total compliance was not accomplished until the 1880s. The Bureau of Vital Records was not established until 1905, but holds records from 1640 to the present. For births, marriages, and deaths to present, write to:
