DIAMONDDAVE'SATOMICBLAST
This is my little page dedicated to the greatest rock 'n roll frontman of all time...Diamond Dave. With his primal screams, attitute, athleticism, and flash, Dave is the quintessential frontman. In 1978 when disco was more fashionable, Dave burst onto the rock scene fronting Van Halen. The combination of Dave and Eddie Van Halen were a magical, dynamic musical duo that is one in a billion. They were the new Mcartney/Lennon or Jagger/Richards. Using Roth's strong business and marketing sense, Van Halen rose from the Los Angelas club and backyard party circuit to become the greatest rock 'n roll band of all time. Van Halen kept a smile on millions of rock fans for seven years. In 1985, Dave left VH to pursue a solo career and kept the legions smiling. Following in the path of "Hot For Teacher", "Panama" and "Jump", the Diamond One continued to help shape the world of rock video just as he re-defined rock 'n roll in '78. The vids "California Girls" and "Just A Gigalo/I Ain't Got Nobody" became instant rock video classics. The Roth 'n Roll continued in '86 with the legendary Eat 'Em & Smile Band. And the video magic of the Picasso Brothers continued with "Yankee Rose" and "Goin' Crazy". Throughout his solo career, Dave has toured and recorded with the many different musicians such as Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, Greg and Matt Bissonette, Bret Tuggle, Joe Holmes, Edgar Winter, Todd Jensen, Terry Kilgore, Steve Hunter and Jason Becker. In 1998, a time that finds alterna-grunge more fashionable Diamond Dave has returned to his fans a brilliant, hard rockin' "big rock" album to lead the return of good-time rock. To show these younger bands of today what a rock 'n roll show is all about, Dave has put together a kick-ass band, to take us into the new millenium. With the screaming fretwork of Bart Walsh, along with the backbeat rhythm of Todd Jenson and Ray Luzier, The "DLR Band concert experience" is a rock 'n roll ride that is long overdue in this alternative age. Hope you enjoy my tribute to DLR. It is the least I can do for the man that has kept me rockin'and smilin' for 19 years of my life. Thanks Dave!
