“Just in Time” – Introduction to Technology
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Hours of Credit: 3

Brief Catalog Description:
This graduate course in educational technology will introduce
basic technology competencies. The course is a prescription course
in which a skills assessment determines the elective components.
Each student will develop an Individual Educational Technology Plan (IETP)
for meeting course requirements. The competencies are based on NCATE
standards to educators.
Information:
Educators explore hardware and peripheral devices, instructional
software and productivity applications, and identify classroom integration
strategies.

None
Objectives: By the end of this class,
the learner will be able to:

Demonstrate a knowledge of computer operating systems

Correlate technology use with Instructional Goals and Objectives

Utilize basic word processing skills

Demonstrate competencies in at least two multimedia applications

Demonstrate ability to identify funding sources for technology

Demonstrate basic knowledge of copyright laws

Develop instructional project utilizing basic computer skills
