Brief Catalog Description:
This graduate course in educational technology will introduce basic technology competencies.  The course is a prescription course in which a skills assessment determines the elective components.  Each student will develop an Individual Educational Technology Plan (IETP) for meeting course requirements.  The competencies are based on NCATE standards to educators.

Information:
Educators explore hardware and peripheral devices, instructional software and productivity applications, and identify classroom integration strategies.

Objectives:  By the end of this class, the learner will be able to:

• Demonstrate a knowledge of computer operating systems
• Correlate technology use with Instructional Goals and Objectives
• Utilize basic word processing skills
• Demonstrate competencies in at least two multimedia applications
• Demonstrate ability to identify funding sources for technology
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of copyright laws
• Develop instructional project utilizing basic computer skills
